International Copyright Industry Forum “Development of film & TV industry chain in the digital era”

International Copyright Forum is the first international copyright gathering in China organized by WIPO and National Copyright Administration of the People’s Republic of China and the past three forums have had a positive impact on the international copyright industry. It has boosted the development of cultural and creative industry and copyright industry in China and the world and guided the development of copyright-associated fields since 2006.

Wellknown experts, scholars and entrepreneurs from domestic and foreign copyright administrations, organs and enterprises will be invited to attend the International Copyright Forum themed by the development of film & TV industry and to discuss central topics in the film & TV copyright field. During the Forum, lectures named as Dialogue with Masters will be given and world famous experts in the film & TV industry will explain film & TV production, issuance, investment and financing and copyright protection.

More than 300 Chinese and foreign guests, including senior officials from copyright administrations in more than 50 countries, representatives from international trade associations and famous enterprises as well as experts and scholars attended the Forum.

Segment One: 
Music and Copyright:  From Law to the Market    VIDEO
Recent technological developments have profoundly modified the way protected content is created, shared, managed and exploited.  New diversified licensing models are emerging, which will provide tools for the industry to monetize its assets.

This session will address the role of the regulatory environment to enable creativity and the challenges faced by artists and the industry to take advantage of the digital music environment.  The segment will also explore how future investments in the music industry can be funded and rewarded.

Segment Two:  Music and Development       VIDEO
The potential of the copyright system to serve as an engine to empower artists and producers and support the development of local music industries will be discussed.
