China thinks highly of intellectual property protection and has enhanced it to the level of national strategy. China would like to conduct dialogues and communications with other countries on intellectual property rights.

The cultural and creative industry is the foundation for sustainable and stable development of Chinese economy and one of the forces driving China to international market in the age of new economy. The copyright industry supports the long-term development of the cultural and creative industry and paves the way for transformation of creative outcomes, thus it has become the most promising sunrise industry in China.

As the only country-level copyright expo in China, China International Copyright Expo has been successfully held three times from 2008 to 2010 with active participation of more than 60 countries and regions as well as quite a few enterprises and has become a grand gathering of the world culture & creativity and copyright industry. Through the Expo, the world knows more about the huge wealth and market potential of Chinese culture and may start a wider range of cooperation with China.  The Expo also enables China’s cultural, creative and copyright organs, organizations and enterprises know more about the world copyright trade situation and trend, and create conditions for them to participate in international competitions, expand the scope of cooperation and increase strength. The 3rd China International Copyright Expo was held successfully in Beijing on November 18-21, 2010.

This Expo was hosted by General Administration of Press and Publication, China National Copyright Administration, Administration of Radio, Film and Television, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Ministry of Culture, the Central Committee of the Communist Young League, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade of the People’s Republic of China and Beijing Municipal People’s Government, undertaken by Beijing Municipal Copyright Bureau, Beijing Branch of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and People's Government of Beijing Chaoyang District and organized by Beijing International Copyright Trade Center.

On the basis of summing up former experience and on the principle of being sustainable, applicable, innovative and distinctive，the Expo displays the broad prospects of copyright economy and discusses key topics in the copyright industry. It tops the last two as to scale, quality, achievements, activities and exhibition space and realized a direct copyright trading volume of nearly RMB 400 million yuan. The Expo revives the development of regional economy and cultural & creative industry, and different contents of the Expo are well combined to highlight such features as internationalization, specialization and large scale.

This Expo attributes its success to the participation of insiders, generalization of specialized events, extensive involvement of the industry and effective organization of each event. The China International Copyright Expo is becoming more influential and attracting in the copyright industry, and it provides experience for organizing similar meetings and activities and lays the foundation for long-term development of the Expo.

During the 3rd China International Copyright Expo and 2010 International Copyright Forum, International Copyright Forum, Global Original Music Concert and WIPO Copyright Gold Medal Awarding Ceremony, Industrial Exhibition, Theme Activities, etc. were given. There were high-level copyright seminar, exhibition of copyright works and achievements, exchanges among different sectors, negotiations between cultural and creative enterprises, individuals and investment and financing institutions, China Cosplay Classic Contest and other special performance. Such activities are well combined to highlight the industrialization, specialization, marketization and internationalization of the Expo. With copyright industry chain at the core, such links as copyright achievement exhibition, copyright project recommendation, copyright trading, copyright discussion and copyright protection technology development are well arranged during each theme event, leaving all participants a deep impression and making beneficial exploration for developing copyright-associated industries in China.
